Project Details

An icon to the City of San Francisco – The Fairmont Hotel is a beautifully architectured terra cotta and granite façade structure with wood windows. All three exterior elements were addressed as part of this project – a routine maintenance façade preservation. We addressed the condition of terra cotta blocks and pinned in place a considerable amount around the windows using helical anchors. The terra cotta spalling was cleaned and coated to match surrounding areas. Less work was required at the granite – cleaning, joint repointing, and some minor spall repairs. All windows were inspected, wood repaired and surfaces painted. On the interior window, operation was tuned up with new hardware installed.
