Highlights
Designated San Francisco Landmark Richardson Hall was built in 1924 to house a teachers school. The building facade was constructed on cast in place concrete with a cement plaster finish on the exterior facade. Operable, steel windows were cast in the structural concrete facade and glazed with 1/8″ think glass and glazing putty.
In 2015 the buidling which had most recently served as extension campus for the University of California, was reimagined as a multi-use complex. 55 Laguna would eventually include office, retail as well as residential housing.
Project Details
Rainbow provided a complete restoration of building components. All existing glass and paint were removed from the existing steel window frames. Paint was removed down to bright white metal on steel window frames and painted with three coats of Tnemec paint. All operable windows were repaired and restored to working order. New glass was installed and glazed with silicone sealant in a color to match the new window frame paint in lieu of glazing putty. Rainbow repaired all concrete and plaster spalls and completed the project by painting the building exterior complete.
